I was wondering if there was a way to test the Casper's Knock Gauge as so far I havent seen any knock, OK Im lying, I did see one green light when I cranked the car up, and this only happened one time. TIA Carlos

Well, a simple way to check it is to tap on the block (somewhere remotely close to the knock sensor) with the car idleing. Just use a hammer or wrench. The gauge should light up if it's detecting the knock correctly. A buddy could watch the gauge for ya.

You can also try holding the throttle steady at around 2500rpm. Tap on the motor. You should notice the rpm's drop a bit as the computer retards the timing.

If neither of the above work, then we need to do some trouble-shooting. HTH:)

Oh yeah, almost forgot. The green light (power light) should be on anytime you have the key on. If it's not, then something is not right.

if the knock gauge does not light up after doing this test is it the knock sensor gone bad?The Scanmaster picks up knock so does that mean it is getting a signal from the knock sensor?

Test is in the instructions.

UNSOLDER or UNHOOK the trigger wire. Yellow and black stripe wire to the gauge.

Then take that wire and rapidly go back and forth to the +12 terminal and off it and it should register lights.

Obviously the power to the gauge has to be on, car off and make sure that trigger wire is off to the ECM connection.
