Knock off turbo's, Anyone run them?

Everyone I have known over the last 10+ years, never had a cheap turbo put on their car. If someone has, shame one you. You must have unlimited funds to do engine rebuilds...lol :biggrin:

I was just wondering if those $280 bb gt-35's can be rebuilt with REAL garrett parts. I read somewhere that those knockoffs were identical specs to the garrett gt35R

So how would you cost effectively rebuild it? You would need everything since everything important like the turbine and compressor wheel will likely be a problem area.

On my 4.6 mustang I ran a Master Power T70 a few years ago with good results. 17psi the car went a best of 9.33 @ 145.Had it for a year then switched to a GTS78. The MP was a great turbo for the money.
