Knock

geez.. Just starting yesterday i was getting knock.. I dont have a scan tool but getting one really soon. My bike is paid off next month so then thats when i am getting one. I do have a knock guage.. Just driving today i am getting tons of knock.. When idel its fine.. When going a little gas will work then u have to feather it. I also hear a faint tick when its in the red of the knock guage. I have replace my maf with the 3.5 maf and standard translator about this past may. I know i dont have a scan tool so.. i dont know how much knock. But no knock is good.. Any ideas of what i can check.

Do you have an engine tie down? Is the THDP hitting the frame or the crossover pipe?

No i dont have an engine tie down. I will look to see if it is hitting the frame or cross over pipe.. Will this make knock if it is hitting it. I really cant give it no more then 1/4 gas when driving. Any more it will go right into the red. Also i have to feather it when driving. The tick gets worse the more gas there is. But once i reach up to speed it levels off.. I just have to keep a steady foot to get home..

check your turbo control lines. The three rubber hoses from the wastegate solenoid to the turbo. I had a problem with knock past half throttle and when I replaced thes hoses it ran like a dream no knoack at all.

When my valve spring busted I could get up tp 55 and cruise with no knock. But, when the cruise control either had to let off the gas or give it gas to maintain speed I would get knock. It was upwards of 20+ on the scanmaster. Just another thing to possibly worry about. Good luck.

possible you have bad gas . try acan of octane boost.

doesnt sound like its coming from the header.. I had the welded about a yr ago. I know it can still leak but.. It sounds more then that now.. Sounds like a rod or like what b231v6 was saying.. It does sound like a busted valve.. But since i dont have time to work on it i have to put it in the shop.. Can anyone let me know who does excellent work and as well as performance..
