knocking in the transmission

I`ve notice when i pull out of my driveway in reverse or drive the tranny makes a knocking noise...It have to be coming from the tranny cause i had the TC rebuilt by vigilante, the engine was just rebuilt and still the same noise also the TC bolts are tighten............and my question is what in the tranny can cause the knocking noise in drive or reverse it sounds like a tapping noise....

is it only once?is it in all gears going forward?could be the sun shell is worn and engagement noise incurred during initial driving.

I notice the noise mostly and very loudly when i backing out of my step driveway or going forward out of my driveway, thats when it sounds like it tapping or hitting something...the tranny shifts good in every gear, its just the noise

sounds like a cracked flywheel.

I`ve checked the flywheel while doing the engine rebuild no cracks, still do i need to replace it just to be safe? I bought it from autozone a few years ago........

I just removed the flexplate and found a crack around the tc bolt, is thats whats causing the noise? What else should i check since the tranny is out? just to be safe before i put in the new flexplate?
