Im trying to find some info about doing a motor swap in a 87 Regal 3.8 non turbo. I would like to convert it over to a 2004R and either a SBC or BBC. Anybody know of any boards that would have info about stuff like that? Ive looked on here but this board seems to only cover turbo Buicks.

i have converted a 1982 3.8 v6 cutlass to a SBC and a 700r4. Drop me a line if you think i may be able to help you out.

I want to convert a 87 3.8 non turbo Regal to a BBC 454 with 2004R. Ive got most of the engine parts for a 454 and a 2004R so I figured I would swap them in.

Any questions in particular you're looking to get answered? It's actually a fairly easy swap to do, and I've got some pictures of 1 of my setups I did if it helps any.

Can you swap a big block chevy in and still retain power steering and A/C?

Ill probably have to bug you more in a few weeks. Im picking up the car this weekend but wont have time to do any of the swap until next month.

Yes you can. I didn't do that on any of my swaps, but it's definately possible. The biggest concern is the use of tall valve covers. They will not clear if you retain the heater-a/c box. You'll have to use stock, or close to stock height valve covers.
Most any oil pan will work, and there will be some slight trimming to your driver side motor mount if you're going to use the Hooker SuperComp swap headers. You'll also want to be cautious of your brake lines if you use those headers (I found that out the hard way). Just a few FYI's, but if you have any other questions, hopefully I can help out.

Yea im just gonna use stock or short valve covers which ever is cheaper. Its just gonna be my everyday driver so its not gonna be too crazy. Goal is to make 400+ rwhp on 87 octane. Im gonna get crazy with it later on but for now its just gonna be a driver. My current driver became too much of a race car so now I need another.:D
