KTF 2004R Trans, Is the valve body & governor any good in this trans or just another 1 to avoid? Chart said 307 Olds w/2.93 gear. Thanks for any Info,

I am no expert but I think that unless your car is pushing high HP, over say 350, any vb/gov, will work with a 694 or superior super servo, band, shift kit and 10-13 vane pump upgrade. I actually have a KTF that I am rebuilding as a spare for my rod.

The kickdown, shift timing, and rpm of the shifts. Are affected by the VB and gov.
Im sure someone that knows all the codes will chime in with what the exact application that is from

That trans is from a Cadillac with an Olds engine. The valvebody and govenor are not suited for turbo applications especially with bigger gears like 3.42's in our cars. The shift timing will be way off and it's difficult to modify it to make it work properly. I have a couple of those transmissions in my shop. You will need the valvebody and govenor out of a high performance trans from a GN, Hurst Olds, or SS Monte.

Ktf Code

Thanks Mikestertwo, the guy trying to sell it said it came from a 442. I know the Hursts & 442s Olds had the OZ code.
