LACR sucks

Smokin 6,

Based on what I've seen in the past my first guess would be lack of interest. LACR is a crappy dragstrip with high altitude, strong cross winds and is usually hot and dusty too. I've raced there quite a few times and always ask myself why. That's my guess.

Neal

Oh, I forgot to mention it's over run with Import cars also but just about anywhere in So. Cal is these days.

Thanks 750, bout what I figured, car enthusiasm is a rariety here in so.cal Ive learned. After selling my 87 in 98 to move here, I bought another last year, what a joke, no where to take it, no shows less ur lucky to hear bout one last minute, after moving here from detroit, Ill say so. cal is DEAD for car lovers.

It would be a drive for you, but there's a huge gathering every Saturday morning in Huntington Beach from 6-8:30am at the corner of Magnolia Ave and Adams Ave. If you show up you'd be one of a few Buicks that show up amongst the gazillion Brand Xs and Ys. Imports are "discouraged" and on nice days the whole parking lot fills up (figure well over a hundred cars). Get there early if you want a spot!

The event you referred to might also have been affected by the fact that California Speedway hosted their first Saturday night racing event that same weekend where racing went from 5-11PM. Both 750 H.P. and I attended/raced and all I can say is that it was one major pooch screw. That, and LACR sucks big donkey testes.

'87 GN that now runs on 5...no wait! 6 cyli-- oh, dang it...5 cylinders...on a good day. More boost helps...sorta.
HP is inversely porportional to the number of flat cam lobes; after 161,600 miles the original motor's all done.

Vegas Baby!!

Jack is right. Vegas is the "Event" you don't want to miss.

thanks for the info guys, I'll have to look up info on Vegas, get a lil nervous taking it that far cross the desert though. Too bad lacr is such a let down as you say, I havent been there yet.

I really thought I'd have the web page for the WCN '03 done by now, but I've fallen behind. I'll post on here when it's ready, so all that are interested will come.
