What is a L67 worth. Not exactly low miles but runs great. I'm looking to buy one local. Complete 99 gs with bad trany.

well your a bit vague with the mileage but I have sold several complete sc/tb to oil pan with 120-140k for around $400 each. of course your area may bring more or less

location ,location ,location they say lol of course higher miles is worth less lower miles more
 
Yeah you're right about location. This is a CL find. 200k 99gs. Said to run perfect and body in great condition but has bad trany. I'm not in the market right now but just wandering if body and engine were in exellent condition as stated (despite milage) if this would be an ok deal on it.

I usually find 200k cars with bad tranys up here for $400-600 depending on cars condition. being in TN the car is likely real solid but interior pretty beat from the miles/use and the effects of the sun.

nobody wants engines with over 150k cant give them away lol but you can easily part them out. blower to someone looking for a core to port , throttle body ,fuel rails , injectors ,heads ,lower intake, etc.... but if its in the car and runs good leave it where it is until it gives you reason....

you should be able to find a used but useable trans for a couple hundred bucks to 500 depending on miles
 
I've been looking at plenty of them here in the junkyards of Atlanta whats up with the super charger when it has a lot of play in the pulley does the whole supercharger need rebuilding or is it just the snout,looking to buy soon and I need to know what all to look for
 
usually when there is play or noisy its just a bad coupler. $30 or less for the part and fresh lube needed also to swap it. People have bought cars that owners were told by dealers it was going to be $2,000 for a new supercharger and the car only needed a $30 coupler.

also any time you see a normally aspirated series 2 3800 that has been diagnosed as seized engine ,blown head gasket , or cracked head on craigs list for cheap buy it... none of these are common and its usually just a bad intake gasket that has filled the cylinders with coolant. I am 3 for 3 on these lol
 
cool thanks for the info I see a lot of f- body 3800's for sale with "siezed" motors I'm ready to buy any series 2 that's cheap and the body,paint,interior looks decent.
 
f bodies have an aluminum intake not the plastic one that w bodies got so I wouldnt be nearly as optimistic with those
 
The intake is aluminum.... Oh wait you're right it's the upper manifold that cracks and passes coolant into the intake so yeah if an F body 3800 is siezed it's probably got bigger issues. I was thinking of the lower manifold gaskets give out whether it's front or rear drive but this woiuldn't cause the seizing issue unless of course they just kept adding coolant and didn't realize it was going into the oil.
