I usually like to hardwire my laptop power inverter in my car, but I need to have one in the house to run the laptop off of. The adaptor I have has a output of 15V 3A. The highest output adapter I can find only has a output of 12 V 2.A
My question is will this be enough juice to run the laptop?

Thanks
Paul

Paul, I went to Canadian Tire and bought the small power inverter, I think it was 39.00. when I got t-link . plugs in cig liter and seems to work very well. not sure if this is what you are trying to avoid. only a suggestion........ John

Thanks for the response John. :)
It is not the inverter that I need. It is the adaptor that plugs into the inverter. I'm looking to get another one. With my old laptop I had 2 adapters. One sat on my desk at home and one was wired in the car to the inverter. This way I didn't need to lug it around with the laptop.

Why not trash the inverter and plug your lap top directly into the cigarette lighter via Compaq's "Mobile Adapter". It's around $90, but cuts out the patch work. Brian

Thanks for the idea Brian... :) But the inverter is already in the car, so I might as well use it. I really just need another adapter for the home. I have a lead on one. Just need to do some more searches. (Trying to keep the costs down ;) )
