Laptop reboots when I start the car...WTF

Ok,
I have the key on. I turn on the computer get turbolink up and running..ready to record a run...when I start the car the computer reboots it's self...By then Im in the burn out box and I don't have time to get turbolink back up and running before I make my run. Is there any way to keep this from happening?

No I don't have a battery pack

You could try rewiring your 12v lighter plug right to the battery.

Yep, cig lighter power is cut during cranking, wire to a constant voltage source.

If you look at your fuse block, you will see 2 or 3 terminals labeled ign. These terminals are hot whenever you turn the key to the on position. I wired my laptop to one of these so I wouldn't have a wire hanging from the cig lighter. I know that some people splice into the wire that feeds the lighter but that wire is very small. I ran a 12 gauge wire to the fuse block and put a spade on the end and plugged it into the terminal. It makes for a neat and clean installation.

Or invest 40 dollars in a battery booster pack. This worked the best for me last year and your computer stays on for the run. You can get these fairly cheap at Menards or Sam's club and you can even give a fellow racer a jump start when their ride won't fire... Just a thought.
