if was to switch to an 87 ecm and coil pack, and then have a chip burned to add the 36# injectors, would there be a power gain over the stock injectors, and if so, how much are we talking? The fuel pump will be upgraded and hotwired regardless of which route i go, i am assuming the larger injectors would help, but if they do, why would that be so? , is it just because i would then be able to raise the boost more and still maintain the A/F ratio whereas the stock injectors would not support much higher boost levels? tia for any input.

I've been wondering the same thing....... and how big to go. Would there be a negative effect to going larger? Hope to get my car back together if my downpipe ever gets here :(

Go bigger

As I understand it, the bigger the turbo, the more gas you are gonna want to pump into that 6 cylinder. Just upgrading the chip, injectors and fuel pump will guarantee the car not sputtering out at higher throttle. If you want the large gains and best results from the previously mentioned upgrades, then you should go with the bigger turbo. From there, all your numbers will increase from HP"s, to Lbs of Torque, to Boost and so on. As far as I know, the larger the injectors, the less problems you will have in the future with the motor starving. If you dont have the adjustable FP regulator, get it. You need that before you do anything else, and definately invest on a rail mounted FP guage. I have that in my car, and it helps greatly. I am just trying to dig up the cash to get the injectors, turbo and pump to get my car up to snuff...good luck!
