I have one 1 1/2 inches brand new stainless from ATR.
I'll also include a new stainless lever asm (tack weld required--Might as well since you are taking it apart.)

how do you tack it on? do you use stainless rods and will i have to grind my elbow to fit

Not really a welder type myself. I would just take the whole elbow or hsg to a good welder and show him what needed to be done probably TIG it; take about 30 mins.
I am sure up in PA there gotta be some great metal fab places there, I have one down here in BFE.
