I've seen a few cars with the flat, round alternator pulley/fan on them. I know Kirban sells this and they say you need a spacer of some kind to make it work but I figure I can get one from the yard a lot cheaper than Kirban. What size/type spacer is used for this? Is it as easy as putting flat washers behind it to shim it out correctly? Don't want to destroy the alt. or the belt.:)

gn1220, go to a place where they rebuild alternators, ask them for the round METAL plate that fits on top of the alternator fan ( between the pulley and the fan), have it CHROMED (!), and it looks better than any plastic fan!!! I'm not sure, but I think that these plates are for Cadillac alternators...That's what I did with mine and it looks great!

E-mail me for pictures...

'Bye, Claude : )
