I have a tractor ride on mower with dual blade deck. One blade hit a rock that was hidden.
Would you suggest changing both blades or just the bad one?
The tractor is only 1 year old.

Guess that depends on the brand of mower. Something like a Craftsman , the blades a fairly cheap, so I would replace them both. Not sure about the higher end models but I can say that if you replace just the bent one.....make sure you resharpen the other to get a good even cut. Hope this helps ya !

HAHAHAH

yesterday i was thinking we need a lawnmower thread!

anyone remember the Lawnboy thread about 2 years ago?

AHAHAHAHAHA

If the new blade is not the exact style as the other one, or the old one has a lot of wear on it, AND you have a very high quality lawn then you will be able to tell a difference. Most lawnmower blades are less than 18 bucks anyway. I always replace them as a set.

What happened to the blade that hit the rock? If it nicked it, then you can just resharpen and balance it. Balancing is easy and most people don't do it. You sharpen the blade, then stick a phillips screwdriver through the hole. It will sit level if balanced. If it leans, sharpen the low/heavy side more until it will sit level. Simple and makes your lawnmower vibrate less.

The blade hit a hidden rock & bent bad.

There is no fixing it as my son tried driving over it with our truck.

I bought the 1 blade & replaced it.. Works fine :)

I definatly don't have a HIGH QUALITY LAWN :(

That high flying lawn mower is awsome. Imagine some tinkering soldiers in Iraq making one of those to chase down and buzz the heads off insurgants? That would be hilarious.

Put two new ones on with a smaller pulley. It will cause them to spin a lot faster and actually create lift like this one!

Hold onto your beer while you mow those! The ride can get hairy!

That's funny as hell...

That's what happens when you eat those mushrooms from the cow pastures while cutting.
