My car has the newer smc kit on it (sorry) . The pump has started to leak. I need to find a replacement. Rumour has it alkycontrol sells one! :biggrin:

Put mine on from Julio and its like it was new all over again.

Since they are prone to leak and because of closeness to the DP I will check mine periodically.

I have had both kits and I am still considering selling mine since it operates like new to get his kit.

Pump trouble

SMC progressive

At idle, the car stalls when when I hit the test button, and O2’s go up to +800, but . . . . I see KR at 19 PSI, 2.1 deg. At 17 PSI. it’s clean.

Car has SMC progressive/stock bottle/pump on drier set-up/dual nozzle.
Gage shows “0” PSI when hitting the test button. Gage may be bad, not sure yet.
Not ready yet to change over to the PAC.
Just going to replace the pump, good maintenance anyway. :tongue:

If the car stalls when you hit test.. then the pump is making some pressure. So if car stumbles and gauge is at zero.. then you have a bad gauge.

i got tired of the smc pump leaking so much so i bought a brand new kit from julio on ebay and it was the best move i ever made. i went through 3 smc pumps. they leak right where it says 'made in china'. go figure. steve was nice enough to repair my first leaky one for free but it started leaking 2 weeks later. maybe there was something in my alky??? i think i may have accidentally used an empty race gas jug to stock up on alky.
