If its more than just a seal popped off (which is unlikely, something HAD to cause it to leak), is it feasible to fix a front pump leak? For example, if the bushing came out or the converter has a problem (cracked hub?) is there really anything wrong with repairing the cause and keep on gettin it? Are there any circumstances where the pump should be replaced and if so are there any recommendations for pumps?

Well...

Basically, whatever is warranted. Pull it apart. If the pump bushing spun in the pump body, yea, it is screwed. If the rotor has gouged , you are done too. But if bushing is tore up and can be replaced along with seal and everything looks good, have at it. I will bet neck of converter is cracked and bushing is tore up tho. all fixable. If this is the case, ck the pump rotor CAREFULLY for a hairline crack or you will be doin it again shortly........ This time walking......... not leaking... :(
