On my stock 86' T-Type as soon as I hit 3rd gear at wot the 02's drop down into the low 700's! This is at 14 lbs of boost. Checked the fuel pressure at wot with fuel pressure set at 40 psi (line off) and it was only 51 psi. Should have been 54 psi. Raised the fuel pressure to 45 psi (line off) and it was still at 51 psi. This is with a brand new Accufab adjustable regulator and a new stock fuel pump, plus a new 02 sensor. I know I need to upgrade the fuel pump but can't do that until I have the gas tank cleaned out because of an issue with rust. My question is this: would a hot wire kit help this problem and should a brand new stock fuel pump be this weak? Forgot to add that it has a new filter too. Thanks, R.B.

Stock fuel pump, nuff said.Get a better 340 or Reds xp.:)

And yes a hot wire will help.Postons sells the correct tank.I got one from Advance and it has no baffles.

Thanks broke1. Is the gas tank suppose to have baffles or not? I am going to upgrade the fuel pump with a Walbro 340 after doing something with the gas tank. I was just wondering if the hot-wire kit would help in the meantime. Thanks, R.B.

Not sure a hot wire kit would help much. If you've got an issue with rust, then likely your fuel filter and the rest of the fuel system have it in there also.
Oh, and yes the fuel tank is supposed to have a large plasic baffle system in it.

Ron,

Turbo Don has sold out most of his turbo stuff but still has the fuel tank and pump from his car. It is a new tank that he had bought and has a 340 pump with hotwire kit. He said give him a call if interested.
