Hey guys..just wondering if anyone knows if there are more than one kind of lear seglar seats. I have an 84 gn and i ordered seat covers, but we are having terrible issues getting the covers to fit. They are definitely different than the ones i took off the seats as far as shape goes alot of it was off..the manufacturer is now questioning if there is more than one style. I have no idea. Help!! Thank you in advance

I would try and call Kirban or Highway stars AKA NOS4GN if you don't get an answer here.

Acctually we were instumental in getting 3 styles of the seat covers built by 2 manufacturers. The pictures you see on the internet are our seats.
PUI: You will have the head rest with embroidery done for the 84 style seat. It is not subdued like the older liers. Probablly the best quality unit built in my opinion. They have a larger or smaller front seat bun option. They will not do anything above & beyond the originals.
ACME: they produced the same seat covers with out the logo. They will do custom colors & materials. They have done a few sets for us like this. They have done a set in Black leather for me as well. They also do our cloth 85 T-type style .
Acme is usually less expensive then PUI.

Let me know which brand you have & where the problems are. Which ever vendor sold these to you should be able to help out & do any warranty work needed. Neither company sells direct to the public.

My issue has been going on for months of sending my seat covers i took off my car to them to prove the ones they supplies did not fit. They re made the covers and so far all that has come out of it is the head rests fit perfectly and the back seats fit perfectly. The knee supports seat bottom and seat back all have issues. The knee supports are small and the wrong shape and the seat bottom is too long and has extra leather going left to right so its kinda folded over. The seat back fit but the stitching is crooked and the welding on the edges of the seat back are not in the corners they in some spots are over an inch away from the corners. So i actually have been dealing with the distributor on the phone and e mail as it was confusing the situation having the vendor in the middle...he did a great job getting the supplier to work with me. So for now we are still trying to figure out what the hell is wrong.. i dont want to put the vendor or suppliers names out here ..and give either of them bad publicity ...

If I can help just e-mail me. Bweavy@aol.com
I would bet $ I know who the manufacturer is & would also know what the problem is as well.
The lower seat knee supports being short on your car would have the lower seat bottom shorter leather. The larger seat bun has a longer seat leather cover on it. I know you would think opposite & I had to double check 2 seats I had here to verify it. If you want have the manufacturer e-mail me & I'll send them pictures with the measuring tape. They both have my # & my e-mails.
This may speed up your process.

I'm glad to see you not throwing a manufacturer under the bus. They build a lot of items for us being a smaller group of cars. Trust me it is usually me talking them into it. Then buying enough to make it worth them building it.
It is unimportant who the vendor is that sold them. Most wouldn't know the difference unless they had seats in front of them or went thru getting the covers developed for the vehicles.
By my prior post I wasn't bad mouthing either manufacturer just giving information on what I have had past experiences with. Both manufacturers have some items better then the other.
I like the quality of PUI seat covers but I like the fact that Acme will do custom work. Acme has moon roof headliners PUI doesn't. I prefer Acme Visors.
Supporting both manufacturers helps keep our cars on the road.

With 2 different sizes of covers, does this mean there are 2 sizes of seats ??
I will be getting a set of the grey covers from GBodyParts, so I need to know if there is a certain seat to look for.

BWeavy is Gbodyparts. His phone number is in his signature. Give him a call and he'll set you up right.

I took a couple quick pics to show the difference.
John all the 85 T-types are longer knee support.
Hopefully this will help some one in the future.
