I've seen a thread with LED tail light installation tips and stuff but I've spent 2 hours looking for it and cant find it! Could someone please post a link to it

well I found that one but the only picture of the rear splices seems to be different than mine. The only thing I'm having trouble with is WHERE to splice the wires. My instructions say "rear body panel between the drivers side quarter and the drivers side tail light housing assembly". Does that mean inside the trunk? Pictures would be very helpful and I could have sworn I saw some months ago on a thread

Yep in the trunk. Drivers side in between the quarter panel and trunk floor.

My kit came with 4 sets of wires to splice into factory wiring. 2 long sets and 2 short sets. If I splice into the factory wiring in the trunk, the 2 short sets would not reach my tail lights. I will try to post a picture of what I'm talking about.

i'll have to look through my install. I haven't looked at mine in a looong time. It was one of the first sets. Some things might have changed since then.

Yea I noticed you were in the original buying group as I was reading through all the LED threads and one of the other guys that was in that group posted pictures and his connectors were different than mine. Wish someone had pictures of their install!

IIRC you have to drill into trunk for the power wire, I think I used the trunk light power for mine. Rest is all external. I used bulb adapters so I didn't have to cut my harness. The adapters go where the old bulbs did.

Where did you get the bulb adapters?

I ordered the 1157 bulb adapters and completed the install today. I think these kits should come with the adapters and when they were designed I don't see why they didn't use them and make a simple plug-n-play kit. Thanks Turbo Nasty for posting about them, it helped me out a lot.

Glad to help. I forgot to mention to put some dielectric grease in the sockets.
