Last night I saw an 85/6/7 LeSabre/Electra T-Type and I am admittedly not real familiar with these. I am curious about the number of these produced and couldn't find anything on gnttype.org. Anybody know anything?
They are the same under the hood as every other FWD 3800 powered car of the same year. The T and Grand National package was purely appearance and nothing more. No turbo, no supercharger, just a trusty old 165HP 3800 under the hood.
my friend had one of these. Pretty good looking car. Nothing special mechanically. It aslo had nice two tone grand national-esque seats. Very comfortable car.
Kirban has said these are the lowest production "Grand National/T-Type" package vehicles made, somewhere around 200 maybe? Like mentioned above, simply an appearance package linked to the popular GN name to sell a front wheel drive. I don't think they hold their value very well but they'd make a cool driver.
my buddy has one of these, great car, black leather, pretty quick too. he drives it every day, and its got 255000 miles on it. never had it apart yet. cruise at 70, 1500rpm, 35 mpg, unreal we cant even get that kind of milage almost 20 years later
