Last week i ended up ordering a new Tech Series Mac tool box in the color blue to clean up my garage and basement floor. What tool box are you guys working out of?

Craftsman here. If I was a Pro. wrencher I would upgrade , but for my needs my Craftsman ball bearing has done me right.

I use my Mac MB1500 that I bought back in '92 and a large top Craftsman top box (got from a runaway car accident at work). Plenty of room for what I have and still some room for the new tools that come out. This pic is from a few weeks back when I took my Flying V into work to sand on it a bit before painting it.

I just realized how clean the wheels are on my toolbox. Bought it at one garage I worked at. Moved it to the next place and it sat in the same spot for 12 years. Now at Toyota for the last 4 in the same spot.

im not that surprise than many of the guys here are using craftsman toolboxes

I have the exact same bottom box as you. It's full and I need to upgrade soon. I am picky though so I MUST have a snap on masters series. Been looking at used ones but haven't jumped at one yet. I am pretty sure that a masters series will last forever unless you run over it with a dozer.

is it safe to say the reason many go with craftsman toolboxes is because many are weekend warriors?

i was told that many guys buy repossess boxes for the simple fact that you'll pay a faction of the price that it would cost you new

My old top box was a Craftsman and I have used it for 22 years professionally and only reason I have the black on on my Mac box now is a car got away from a tech and it ran thru the shop at about 20mph and when it hit my toolbox, it knocked the box forward and it tipped off the back, bounced off the car and hit the left rear corner and bent the box when it hit the ground. It would still be going if not for that. :D My new Craftsman has the roller slides where the old one was just the "friction" type slides.

Pretty safe bet, and I can't blame them, but if you dig around you can buy a better line of used box for similar money as a new craftsman. The advantage here is that it has already depreciated so when it's time for you to upgrade you won't lose your a$$. The disadvantage is that you will likely not find exactly what you are looking for, and you will have to deal with the hassle of digging for one vs. walking into sears. I do have an old craftsman for home use but I hate it.

Anybody who knows me knows I'm not an uppity, flashy kind of guy but I am a big believer in a snap on masters series box. To each their own I suppose.

Kinda surprised that Kennedy is not listed. Big favorite among machinists.

i would have love to gone with Snap On but it was way out of my price range:(thats the reason i ended up going with the Mac 1000 Tech Series box.
the reason i didn't mention kennedy box is because i forgot about it,im sure theirs about 5 more boxes that could had been on the list like Waterloo and homak, any was thats wye i list others as an option in the poll cause i couldn't remember all the name up front:o

I have a snap on bel air box at the house. Bought it new and made those weekly payments like 6 years ago. I have a snap on corvette box that I bought new in 93 that I use at the shop. same deal... weeky payments.
Nice boxes but damn they are pricey! Steve
