I am new, and still trying to figure out what my car came with. My turbo is a Turbonetics stage 3. I had a Buick/Turbo Expert look at the car and he confirmed it was a Turbonetics, but his shop is full for 4 weeks.

I am looking for someone with experence with this unit. It appears the mods on my car were done many years ago, is this an outdated turbo? What kind of power can it make? I ran a search, and did not find a wholoe lot.

Thanks guys.

Would you know the A/R turbine sizes? hot/cold? This is my guess, its more along the lines of a TA33 maybe a bit better/ then again Stage 3 gussing ALOT Better, either way it should be better then stock unless its just a T3 turbonetics center with hotair(buick) housings. Got any pics? Should be good for 350-450(pushing it on the 450 maybe) Nice sig BTW.

I do not know what is inside. I have literally boxes of receipts that came with the car. I am sure somewhere inside it says. I have a bad motor pic somewhere around here. I have not cleaned the car up yet to shoot my own pics. Which part of the sig were you talking about?

THE GOLD PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;) I call my t-type Goldie(sin city) YES shes Goldie. Hmm I think, if my eyes aren't lying to me, you can put a turbonetics or any 35/38mm wastegate on the exhaust housing, top cover with 2 bolts. it would fit if you had a cowl hood or small wastegate(doubt it but maybe) but yes I think that is a Turbonetics HOUSING or limited(some other) Grand National Turbochargers | www.TurboneticsInc.com - Boosting Since 1978 | turbochargers, intercoolers, wastegates, blow-off valves, controls, boosting systems, turbo kits, forced induction parts & accessories although the dp config is different in this pic more or less the same idea, tap the wastegate into the housing. IF you would be able to do this(put a wastegate on the exhaust housing, weld the punk closed) it would control boost levels better.

I know they make a DP for Hotairs but you could buy this 3.8L V6 Grand National Turbo Exhaust Flange - CNC : eBay Motors (item 170396833716 end time Feb-16-10 22:41:37 PST) have a shop(good one) make you a dp, SHOULD be less then the 500$ i've seen for sale at some places (last i checked) Reason why i suggest this, No matter what exhaust system you have its still 2'' from elbow so its 2'' into 2.5'' IF you get a 2.5 DP(atleast) or 3'' That will make your turbo work more efficient.

As for the turbo, if you could get some pics of the hotside turbine that might help us, compare to stock&TA33 more or less. But if she is running great, no problems leave it alone;)
