I just recently got my 87 GN and the previous owner had hammerd in the stock FPR. I have since got a new adj FPR but I was just wondering something...

The beaten upon stocker when measured when pumping through the fuel at 62 PSI static no vacuum. Is it possible that the Fuel Pump has been changed on my car? Can the stock one even push that out for the amount of time that it was on there (how many years..?)

Also I can hear the fuel pump from the rear of the car, is this normal?

If the pump is stock get a replacement. They aren't for crap when new and definately not for high performance use.

It is in the tank and some of the GM pumps are pretty loud so yes that's normal.

Agree with Mark, and like to add that you will be lucky to maintain 55 psi with that old pump. It won't keep up with the volume needed.

ok I agree with you both that it needs to be upgraded.. That's where I am heading with this.

But the main question is have you heard of a STOCK pump being able to put out 62PSI static vacuum off??

It might do it but remember as pressure goes up volume goes down on these pumps so pressure isn't the only thing you need.

Get a good pump and you have one less thing to worry about. :)
