hello,

we are mpcauto from the Monterey Peninsula College Automotive Technology department in Monterey, CA. 20 years ago buick gave us a 86 Grand National for our collection of school cars. At the time the program was under different managment in a different time in the departments life. The car was neglected and ignored. Now under a totally new dept head and myself and fellow students we are bringing this car back to life;). The sad part is the students many years ago tore it apart and left it in peices. We have no diagrams or manuals or books on this car so as far as we have gotten has been google images and what exp we have with cars. Any member who has any electronic images, files, diagrams ANYTHING:confused: with exloded views or vacuum routings and would be willing to share let us know! This to us is like our dept flagship and we want it running strong! This GN had about 18 miles on it when it was given to us and has never been driven or registered on the road. If anyone happens to be going to the Laguna Seca GTGP this weekend we are hoping to be there with our big black car to get our car out there:cool:! we look forward to being a part of this community!

Wow, how cool is that!

We're here to help, try stopping by GNTTYPE.ORG there's a lot of diagrams and write-ups there.

Start a thread here on each particular issue you run into and people will help. It will also be a good source of information for others in the same boat.

Good luck and get that thing back together.

Wow that's cool welcome i was at a tech school in the 90s that an 86 GN was donated to it had 10 miles on it and no vin and our class got it running it was fubar'd by another class and not running when we got to it

Care to acknowledge if you received the files I emailed you yesterday?

hello people; I'd luv to see a pic. as you say neglected. Do you mean kept in a barn with rats or just outside and crapped on. Whatever I'd like to see it. It's funny how did you teach with a new car? A neglected car is a car to learn with and IMO and the students that are there now are going to be better techs than when it was new.

I am working on getting the original pics from my instructor because my copies died with my laptop but by neglected I mean sat for 15+ years in a lot exposed to all elements minus snow under many pine trees.:frown:
