Location for oil pressure guage hookup

Can someone explain exactly where to hook up the electrical oil pressure guage to the block? All I know is I should install a brass tee somewhere near the oil filter on the front of the engine. I looked (from the top of the engine) and couldn't see the factory sending unit. What color wire should I be looking for? Should I remove the turbo shield, or is there something else blocking it? Also, should I drain the oil first before installing the tee? Thanks guys!

Oil sender install

It's a bit of a PITA to do - plan to do it during an oil change and you have to remove the lower rad hose to get in there, so it's a good time for the RMI-25 treatment!

I did my 160' thermo, water temp sender, lower rad hose, oil change, oil pressure sender and RMI in one shot - worked out really well.

I've got something that may help, a page from the 1987 Buick service manual with the drawing of the oil pressure sending unit. (P.S. The 1987 Buick Service Manual is 10 to 11 times thicker than a Chilton Manual, it takes 4 - three inch binders to hold it all!)
