Lock up or non-lockup

how can i tell if i have a lock up or non lockup converter?

im sure this is a dumb question to begin with.
my car drops RPMs above 45mph and not just from a gear shift. also tapping on the brake gently while moving seems to "unlock" the converter.
so i am assuming i have a lock up converter
