Just wanted to know about being able to use my 200R-4 in my
82 Regal. Its being hooked to a Buick 455.
I have 2 questions regarding lock-up,,,
1. Can I still use the trans lock up ,if a switch ( toggle switch) was just manual set up in line, I know that all it needs is a 12 volt source to turn it off and on. it has two wires coming out of the trans wich ones would I use and what source , ign or acc ?
I know there are lock up kits avalible, but I already have the gas pedal and TV cable bracket from an Olds 307, figured all I need was the TV cable , for same application.
2. Also when using this lockup, I plan mostly not using it with in town driving, just locking it up on the high way, is this OK? I Know
that when hitting the brakes It should be shut off but I beleive I can think of it quick enough.
The reasoning for this is , I might have to use it in my car , because the 400th that I have is a long tailshaft and it is 1" longer on the mount for the crossmember that I have in there, so if I set it in the hole it will push the motor 1" foward and possibly the headers wont fit. beside the fact the 200R-4 has over drive!!
So in all Im asking would this set up work temporarily enough to get buy before I do get a good proper kit?
Thanks and sorry for being so long winded.

Very well it will. I would not run too long without lock up running but all your ideas should work just fine..Good Luck

I would like to do that, wich of the 4 wires,( I just found out there are 4 not 2) coming out of the trans do I use?
I.E.... ground, switched, power....?
what colors for what?
thanks

ahhhh

upper left is "a" terminal and that is power
bottom left is black or terminal "d" and it goes to ground
pretty simple and have fun! BT

:)
Thanks again Bruce..
1 last question tho.....
The toggle switch Im using should be hooked up on the ground side for the TCC to work?
Ok 2 questions... and the power should come from ign or a constant power source?
Thanks again:D

1. Yes, switching is done on the ground side.

2. Use a switched or key-on, 12V source to power the solenoid.
