I am torn (new) ART Carr himself pushes the non lock up setup. His convertors are a positive fin angle and he claims you will lose some MPH but cut equal or better ET's. Also claims the non L/U can be balanced within 2 grams vs. the L/U that can't.
Trannys last longer and is less mass/weight to spin. I am really torn and need as much feedback as possible ...so please everyone speak up...it is an expensive replacement but I only want to do it once...Thanx

I have had an Art Carr convertor in my 86 t-type non lock up
3500 stall. you do lose mph on the top and fuel economy on the
street. I now have a preceision lock up in the car and its great
stalls just as good and its locks up. I drive my car 2-3 times
a week and its great to have the convertor lock up. I guess
it all depends on where the car is going to spend most of
its time....street? or Track? If its street I would use the lock
up + you can pick up 1-2 mph on top end when you lock up the convertor.

Just my opnion...
