I had a guy tell me that locking the converter at the strip well give you two tenths. Is this true and will it hurt the trans. an if not how do i do it.

SignUp Now!I used to run a 5 disc Vigilante. Car always slowed down when locked. I tried many different points of lock up without good results. Worked great on the street though. Your results may vary. Brian

Frankly I'd rather get the better ET/MPH from real mods instead of beating on a TCC like that. As others have mentioned there might be a few race converters available that are meant to take the beating (multiple clutch discs, etc) but other than that I wouldn't do it. Just my opinion, plenty of guys do it and say they get away with it.

what there to be confused about ??? ya don't think a stock D5 can take a beating ??? WRONG beating these cars since 1986 .. I think I know what works and what doesn't
I didnt mean to get anybody mad. Just want to know a little info on things I was hearing. I do love to here all the different replys though. I am new to the gn world. Always ran sb chevys. I love the gn and I purchased my first one about 6 months ago. Please excuse me if i tend to ask some stupid Q. Thank you.
This is the diff. unlocked & locked on a chassis dyno. Does that tell you something?
