From a physical stress standpoint, does lockup converter exert more stress on hard parts than a non locker?

It stands to reason that a lock-up, when locked, will be harsher on transmission hard parts simply because you've lost the hydraulic cushion noramlly provided by a converter.

Although minimal, unless your manually locking it under drag racing conditions. I doubt you'll really hurt anything in the trans either way, other than maybe the lock-up in the tc itself.
