I wound up with an extra long block and will storing it on a stand in my garage. I plan on putting a bag over/around it. What else would you recommend I do to prevent rust etc of the cyl walls? Store with oil in it?

I have a running engine in the car and will be keeping this as a spare so it might be a couple years till it's needed. I would expect I would need to rebuild it once I go to use it.

Suggestions?

Loosen the rocker shafts, trans fluid in the cylinders and turn the engine over a few times (and every so often) to keep the cylinder walls lubed. What assembly lube was used on engine bearings?

It is a stock, unopened GN motor. So would you pull the spark plugs, pour oil in and then rotate crank over?

yes i would do this every 6-10 months and make sure to put the plugs back in. also put a big trash bag over it.
