buy an ALDL scan cable, and download TTS Datamaster. Scan it and check for problems. Most of the problems with these trucks are the $2 parts that people ignore.

Make sure the tranny shifts ROUGH ... its supposed to snap 1-2 ---

These trucks are very hard on the transmissions and front propshaft from the gobs of torque they make. Like stated above make sure the trans shifts super firm form 1 to 2 and make sure the front propshaft's boot isn't ripped because even a stock powered truck can destroy a propshaft in no time if driven rough like it's ment to be.
Rust around the tailgate, under the doors and front fender lips.
Idle stock wise is a little rough from what you would think it should be.. that's because in stock forum they leaned out the idle a bit to help pass smog and actually these trucks can pickup allot of power in stock forum simply from someone that knows the ins and outs of custom tuning the ecu.. and no they are totally different then a turbo regal.
