Looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic to work on my turbo ta in Chicagoland. Someone familiar with alky kits and turbos on the 3.8.

I searched on the forums but seems many of the shops are gone.

Do the work yourself .. if your in the Chicagoland area put it on E85 and never look back

There's Speed Inc. in Schaumburg and Modern Muscle in Plainfield. Not sure if they have any Turbo Buick specialists there anymore though.

I wouldn't send my lawn mower to Speed Inc ... last few buicks I've seen come out of there were just all wrong

There's Speed Inc. in Schaumburg and Modern Muscle in Plainfield. Not sure if they have any Turbo Buick specialists there anymore though.

I live right by Speed Inc. I went in there but I got the sense that they are too important to deal with 30 year old technology. Plus, I've heard horror stories on workmanship.

Definitely not speed inc!

Sound Performance is a good bet if you're anywhere near O'Hare. He will also tell you to switch to E85. And he will be correct.

TurboBuRick on the board here is a great guy and mechanic.
Sound Performance can handle most of the work as well.
However, our cars are fragile, temperamental, and require more attention to detail than some shops are willing to give.

my dad had some work done by rick. Good results, paid more attention to detail than I would have.
