I just purchased my first 87 grand national and am looking for reputable people to help me with upgrades etc. It's completely stock with 14,000 miles. I really don't know enough about these cars and want to make sure I get everything done right. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Kel

You've come to the right place. As a one-year-old with my GN, i have a long way to go myself. You will find GA guys to help you out. Heck, a lot of the time, you don't need to actually Have a person with you to help. There are plenty of folks on here that usually can help just by reading your post and having you answer a few questions. I'm constantly amazed by the knowledge some of these folks not only possess, but are willing to pass on...for free! I'll never forget thetime that Eric from TurboTweak diagnosed a loose wire on my alternator from hundreds of miles away just by reading my post! I guarantee that whatever problem you may run across, there's 20 guys on here that have been there before, and 19 of them who are eager to help.

Enjoy the car; sounds like you've gotten a good one! Don't get in a big rush; these cars seem to require 10x the patience that anybody has. Welcome to the board and "stay boosted, my friend!" You are definitely in the right spot to learn about your car.

Theres alot of guys in ga that can help.....get a scanmaster and learn the basics....watch for knock....welcome aboard!!

If you want to get "everything done right", the first thing you must do is to set your goal, and make YOUR plan according to your requirements and budget.

Do not rush into changes or mods as the proper selection of items must be compatible and work together.

Once you establish your performance goal, talk to the people who have actually and successfully done this before.

Good luck and "Happy Motoring"! :)

I'm in the lawrenceville area (northeast of atlanta) My goal is to keep as original looking under the hood as possible. I would like it to be a daily driver and very reliable. It's just not as quick as I would like. I don't know where to purchase scanmaster. Is power logger any better? I hear about those to. I was thinking fuel pump, injectors then a chip but want to learn as I go and do it right and not sure as to what order to do upgrades. I have no intensions on going into the engine any time soon since it only has 14,000 miles on it. Any advise appreciated. 404-488-9100 Kel
