I'm thinking of purchasing a GN, have been into Corvettes mostly, but I can fit my wife and 3 kids into the GN and still have an enthusiasts car.

What can I expext to pay for a low mileage, great shape '87?
Is it possible to find a car with NO rust?
Do the cars squeak and rattle?

Sorry for the basic questions.

Thanks
Jim

there around be prepared to spend though upwards toward 15k and up, and what a good choice gn's are way more fun than the vette for going straight...
Im into the vettes too but had to find a car with storage room
I still own an 89 vette conv w/ 396 stroker

anyhow good luck in your search

Boosted,
I just sold a 92 with a 383 and zn 02 Z06, can you give me some performance comparison between your stroked 89 and the GN.

How about the squeaks and rattles?

Thanks
Jim

From what I have gathered in bringing my own 87 TR back. If the car wasn't maintained in a climate controlled garage you will probably have issues with the body bushings. This will cause you to have the creeks and groans, so you may want to include in the price of your car replacement of these bushings, unless the previous ownere did it for you. Cost is no more expensive than $300 if you are doing it yourself.

T top cars leak every one I've been in also rattle. hard top ones on the other hand do not. I have this one for sale if you are interested.

I really think you will be hard pressed to find one any nicer for the $ than this car. the cars came from the factory missing 4 bushings, I installed these just after we bought the car, about 7 years ago.

first off that gn for 17k looks like the ticket if your looking for a stocker...me I personally would look into something like that to hold on to...
but for a daily driver I look into something thats already worked and tuned that way I could enjoy driving..theres plenty of good prices on some with work done.

now back to the question I can only give you seat of pants opinion and that states that my vette will kill my gn.... and my gn is no stocker neither....
I never got around to the dyno for either cars. lost interest/time other more important issues as all of do from time.

both cars have alot of thought in them when I built/bought them so that said I still prob pick the gn as a cool daily driver hands down cause that old vette I got has enough room for maybe a jacket and a wallet....

Hope the exhaust worked out well. After all the work into the C4 500 fwhp and another 200 shot of nitrous in reserve, and just about $30k it required too much attention. I don't have the ability or time to work on my own cars, I need something that's not always requiring something (antenna, window motor, A/C, etc...)
Now that I type this, I guess a 20 year old G body might need too much attention...

I have a nice T-type for $10,000.00. No rust and lots of upgrades and improvements. Peace WildBill
