Hello all, I realize this is a turbo site, but I signed on because I have a series one 3800 supercharged engine in my personal driver.
Now I have a question on a older 1986 3.8 engine (galfriends) ~ but did not want to break any rules by asking ~ That said, I am looking for general 3.8 / 3800 engine swap information for a older non turbe / non supercharged engine.
Basicly I have a 1986 engine which is bad. I see that the 1988C and later engine have a balance shaft which helps with the shaking. But I need to know if everthing from the 86 will change over (probally not the harmonic balancer or flexplate) and that the later 88 flexplate and motor mouonts will bolt up to the earlier 86 engine compartment. These are FWD engines / cars.
Any help or redirecting to where I might find out this info would be helpful. Thanks, David
