hey guys.been along time since ive been on here.life gets in the way.lol.but anyway, im working on an 87 i believe gnx that ive been thrown into mid build.theres been a thousand hands in the car and the customer wants a huge turbo without knowing what the hell a turbo does aside from making the car fast.so i have a 231 thats punched out 60 over and 41 lb injectors.i have to get the paperwork on the cam and so forth to find out dynamic compression and make sure its a 3000 rpm stall but im shooting for 650 hp range out of this car.ill post more info as its made available to me.like current turbo size, flow numbers on the heads.(theyve been ported but i dont know what they flow yet)piston design and the like.im hoping that one of yall turbo gurus can maybe spend a lil time with me and point me in the right direction.if theres specific info you need,(and i know there is and im working on getting it) lemme know what it is and ill try to come up with it.thanx for the input.

You need to read a lot more on here before you do anything. You need a lot more injector to cover that hp goal. You really need to do about everything for 650hp. Plan on spending $15k your cost to get it done reliably. You need everything from engine to rear modified in some way.

bison, thanx for the reply.i figured on larger injectors and more fuel pump.ive had experience with blowers on carbs but turbos seem to be vastly more complex.haha.so how bout i work it like this, can ya help me figure out which turbo i have on there currently?its a garrett with a 3 bolt flange and it says .62ar i believe on the neck of the flange on the drivers side.it also has a remote blow off valve.the trans has been worked already but i still havent seen specs.where should i be on the injectors?any particular pump yall like using and why?the rear is stock except for the 02 camaro disc brakes im installing but the reality is this cars gonna be a conversation piece more than anything else but the customer wants what he wants and trying to talk him out of it is pointless.ive tried.ok,so more questions.can you reflash the stock ecu to make that kind of power or do you need to move over to something lke f.a.s.t. efi?this guy also wants to run a bottle.i can prolly put a fogger kit in there and just install really small jets but hes gonna want to see it there.ive already told the guy its a bad idea but it fell on deaf ears.so what do you think about a more achievable 480 hp motor with a 75 shot of juice?listen, i reallyy appreciate any help yall give me...really...im frustrated because i know im gonna go thru alot of work here and the customer isnt gonna spend money in the right places and this things gonna blow up on the trip home.but i at least have to try to make his expectation.

Post pics of the compressor wheel and ex wheel and we can give you our best guess on the turbo. I wouldn't run any amount of N2O without at least 110 octane. I'd be concerned about tearing the trans up without proper mods done to it. You will need to get this semi running and bring it to a tuner with a dyno to get I dialed in. Ottos performance in Milford can get it done. I wouldn't run any n2o through it or attempt more than 16psi until you get it on a dyno with someone familiar with this type of engine

ok, so on the hot side,it has a 3 bolt flange from the header to the turbo.a 4 bolt flange to the downpipe.external blow off valve in the 3 in downpipe.comp housing doesnt have any numbers on it that i can find but its polished so it must be good right???hahaha.ok,so i have some pics and ill upload them when i get home.theyre in my phone.oh the inlet is 3 in and the outlet is 2 in on the cold side.
