I bought the Valves he had for sale a while back,

in this thread
http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/parts-sale/196743-tons-parts-engines-trans-cars-look.html

the valves are listed as Ferrea valves,

the Part number on the small bags are 4007E and 4009E I could not find these numbers on the Ferrea Website

I did a Google search on the part number and came up with this
Buick Competition Valves from RPM Machine

They are SI valves, I cannot find anyone that is using these valves and I can't justify using these valves without knowing they will stand up like ferrea or manley Valves..

I'd like some answears but I have sent pms and email... nothing...

Still haven't heard... I guess I've lost over $100

This is the first time I've been screwed over by a board member... lets hope it's the last....

Sorry to hear about this! I had no clue the valve were SI. Again I ordered then thru S.A.M. when I was in school there. We get great student discounts thru Ferrea and other companies who feel the need to support the school. I worked with my instructer for some good stainless valves and those are what arrived and I had requested Ferrea and that is what I thought they were. They definatly appeared to be ferrea.. backcut, swirl polished and installed great (the two valves that were open in the package were installed and flowtested on my heads)

Sorry for not getting back with ya. I have long sold all of my turbobuick parts... and I have parted a whole car... new turbos... maf and injectors... countless items without complaint and always sold as advertised. I just havent been back on turbobuick.com in months. PM me and lets work somthing out... dont want you to be stuck with somthing you are unhappy with and belive me I had no clue they were not Ferrea's

Thanks Sam, I did see you have not been on this board quite some time,

I'll send you a PM.

I want to Thank Sam, he stepped up and fixed this as soon as he learned of this problem, I'd like to think I'd do the same thing, and the only thing that tipped me off was the exhaust valve is flat, Fereas are dished.

Once again, I appreciate you fixing this Sam.

Bill

I saw this Tim, but no one seems to be running them, so I'm not taking a chance, I'm buying a set of ferreas

I would email/call them and tell them what you plan on doing with them . and see what they say . they make "inconel" valves for Chevys , maybe they can set you up with a set for a Buick . I do not think Ferreas are "inconel" , but I maybe wrong .

I did email them and I got, they "Should hold up" but pretty much they said any detonation whatsoever will kill them...

I dunno, maybe in a mild street car they would be fine, but, what mild street car runs big valves?

BILL,

OUR VALVES ARE 21-4N STAINLESS STEEL FORGINGS AND SHOULD BE USABLE FOR YOUR HIGH BOOST TURBO MOTOR. THERE IS NO WARRANTY ON ANY ENGINE PARTS USED IN A RACE APPLICATION FROM ANYBODY. THE BEST I CAN TELL YOU IS TO MAKE SURE YOUR TIMING AND FUEL ARE CORRECT BECAUSE AT THE BOOST YOUR'RE RUNNING A SPLIT SECOND LEANOUT WILL TRASH YOUR ENGINE.

THANK YOU

PETER WIGBELS

GENERAL MANAGER

I did not ask for warranty, I asked how confident they were in their product.

most likely the same as a Manley valve . lot's of guys running those . IMO if it's something that's going to worry you, don't run them . :)
