Lots of Knock

Every time I get the boost up to 5# or more, I start getting all kinds of knock. If I go WOT, the boost starts creeping up well past the 14# wastegate setting towards 20#, and I get tons of knock, around 17* of retard. What could be wrong?

The first thing is to get out of it when you get the knock.

What kind of gas are you running and what are the mods.

You could add some xylene, 1 part to 3 parts gasoline (DO GET IT ON THE PAINT) and about 4 oz of Marvel Mystry Oil for each gallon of Xylene.

I'm fairly sure it's not the gas as I've been using the same gas for 3+ years with no problems.

About 3 weeks about I heard a loud noise that sounded like a crunch, combined with 37* of retard. Since then I've had the knock problem and the creeping boost.

Motor mount, broken engine tie down strap?

Tons of things it could be.

Downpipe hitting?

Do you think it might be ignition related? The car also hesistates occaisonally, bucking a lot, especially near shift points.

I don't think it's a motor mount or tie down as the sound was definitely not consistent with that and I'm fairly sure I would notice such a problem. I also doubt it's the downpipe as I haven't touched the thing lately.
