well im thinking of lowering my GN when i get it most likely 2" spindles and 1.5" belltech springs. i know for a fact belltech parts are good quality since thats all i have on my truck now. but anyway is this gonan be a good setup??? i dont wanna be slammed but just a little lower to close up the fender gap. and will this incur a lot of scraping??? thanks

If u are going to run an aftermarket Stock Location Intercooler
or frontmount you'll have problems with the scoop and pipes scraping. Here in Arizona the roads are always getting repaired or something and inwhich scrap or ding the scoop and pipes.
But I lowered Gn with 16s or 17s rims looks like a Killer on the street :D
I'm planning on B body drop spindles with 12in brakes and
upper tublar A arms for the front and 1.5 springs in the back.
Just need more information on disk brakes on the back.:)

the stock geometry is so bad, that in this case chopping the springs are a better idea. If you use the dropped spindles, the camber change is in the wrong direction, and makes tire rubbing worse then using shorter springs.

I lowered my T-Type with Hotchkis springs. It lowered the car aprox. 11/2 in the front and about 1in in the rear. I'm using 16in GTA rims and haven't experienced any rubbing problems. Also I have an ESP FM and my IC pipes have never hit the ground. This NYC driving by the way.

i used the eibach prokit springs. dropped 1.5" all the way around. i measured my ground clearance at the ic scoop. 3.25" i havent bottomed out, but hafta be careful running over stuff. i had to stradle a hubcap in the middle of the road one day and the ic scoop dragged it along. doh!

NO WAY! .... i have a V4R - stock suspension and i think it is about 4 inches off the ground..prolly more. I wanted to go with the HAL coil overs but i hear it slams the car down and i dont want to bottom out my scoop again....i did once going at a dip in the road at full boost!

I've done both routes of lowering. I started with the good ole cut coils, No rubbing what so ever, it handled great but I couldn't stand the constant Lowrider bounce. I installed Bell Tech 2" in the front and now the whole car seems unstable cornering. I am thinking of keeping the stock springs/spindles for track only and throwing some Bell Tech springs in up front for daily use.
As mentioned above, be prepared for some rubbage if you go with the spindles alone!

IMO a 1" lowering front spring will do. It allows your front lower control arms to be parallel to ground, improving handling.

I agree with xtremexnyc and THE CROW. My car is dropped 2" all the way around with bell tech drop spindles and springs. I think the ideal combo would be 1" lowering springs all around. The car looks killer lowered though. I think I mentioned this before, the car is on the "peeks" section of gnttype.org. It is the one with the hood up.;)
