Hey Im just wondering on what kind of lowering kits will fit our cars and how low they will lower, Also does anyone know who has the best price for some Lowering springs.

Thanks
chris

I think a few companies sell lowering springs. If I remember, Hotchkis and Edelbrock sell them... but I wouldn't waste your money.
If you want lower, go to http://www.show-n-go.net/gfiles/g_spring.html or jeffd.50megs.com
I picked the 5658 springs, and the car settled around an inch lower than stock. Though, keep in mind, that's a stiffer spring, but you should run a stiffer spring if you're lowering the car, to make it less likely to bottom out.

For the rear, I haven't picked my springs yet, I'm still running stock, but either of those sites should give you a good idea of what spring would work well.

Though, by all means, if you've got too much money, go ahead and blow $300 it on Hotchkis springs, or some other "lowering springs" for your car.
Though, I'd be happy to take your extra money if you sent it to me, I could order the $50 5658 springs and you could pay me $140.
For another $140, I could pick out some $50 rear springs and send them to you too.

The bottom line is, buy OEM springs (preferably American made) from a local parts store rather than getting screwed out of your mind by buying Hotchkis or Edelbrock springs. Many Jap-crap drivers have to buy expensive springs simply because there aren't OEM type springs that fit their application, but lucky for us, we have the S-10, A-bodies, G-body wagons and F-bodies.

BTW... I've had a harder time with quick 60' times now that I've stiffened up my suspension, and I've only done the front end!

My bad, I just remembered, I used 5660s, they're a 639 lbs/in, and I'd have to say it's pretty stiff, but since it's not my daily driver, I'm fine with it.

FWIW & IMHO:
Are those springs constant rate or variable (progressive) springs. There are several good informative threads and posts on this site, the non mentionable similiar site that ends in "s", ihadav8, & T6P (Turbo6Power), Most of the manufacturers that market lowering & handling improvement kits do just that. They market them. Eibach makes a very nice kit that lowers the car about 1.5 inches on all 4's, but the rear springs supplied in their kit, as in everybody else's kits, are variable (progressive) in design and I did not care for the floaty feeling when the car was not in the process of negotiating a corner. Most kit manufacturers will not, or do not like to, disclose who makes their springs. They also generally do not disclose the fact that the rear springs are progressive. It seems to me that progressive springs are barrel shaped and constant rate springs are straight sided. The spring diameter is also tapered on a progressive spring, but constant on a constant rate spring. Sorry for the long post and hope this helps.

I went with MOOG replacements for a late model el camino. Dont know the part numbers, but they are less spring rate than the stock ones. Wanted a soft ride and a good weight transfer at the track. The car does bottom out on some dips when driving over the speed limit. Since this car is a garage queen, I dont mind. Car is lowered by at least one inch
