I would leave the car alone since it runs really well. Wait until it does not run so well and then get the LT1 MAF, Translator, ECM, TT chip and the 60 lb injectors. One opinion. Brad

i mean it runs as good as i would expect out of 30 lb injectors at 12 lb boost but i want to turn the boost up and have it idle a little smoother

X2!

Listen to what Brad is saying.

There are only three ways you can safely increase boost;
1-Octane
2-Cooler charge
3-Lower timing

Just add an alky system, and it will give you the ability to increase two on the list; Timing and boost, while lowering the charge temps.
Of course, you can also switch to E85 and skip the alky system to some extent.

The 28 lb injectors are more than adequate, depending on the boost/rpm/gas you will run, especially if you plan to add an Alky kit. . . . . . . But, make sure they are clean, and if you decide to purchase, get the 60's minimum.

Idle quality can be improved, but without a scantool, you will be throwing $$$ at it. Are the vitals ok? (MAF, IAC, TPS, O2's, CC, BLM, FP)

None of this will happen without a good scantool though. ;)
(Your sig did not indicate the use of a scantool )

You've got good supporting mods.

I'd send your chip back to Eric and have him reprogram it for alky and score an alkycontrol kit from Julio and crank that bitch up:cool:.

I'd like to see how far you can go with the stock turbo with a huge shot of alky. Especially if you put a small nozzle pre-turbo and a bigger one in the intake. I wouldn't be surprised if you could push 25# on the stocker with all that meth cooling things back down.

I would say that a caspers knock gauge is great to have while tuning. Makes it easy to lift if you get a degree of knock, rather than letting it knock then finding out from a datalog, possibly too late.

ok seems like ecm is getting swapped and newer ign module with coil pack since i was on my way home from a run to va and the car is idling bad and when you floor it it feels like spark scatter and falls on its face full of knock

ECM swap is a good move.

Be advised that your 84 chip won't work in your 87 ECM.

Good time to pick up some cheap 42# injectors and have a new chip burned. I went 115MPH on greentop 42#ers and had plenty of fuel left. They really are all the average hotair needs, especially if you're going to add methanol.

No but I can see how that could happen.

When I had mine torn down I took my orings down to the local industrial oring house and got new viton replacements.

You thinking that's what happened?

hae you ever blown a turbo adapter o ring?

I had a Turbo bracket bolt fall out(stripped) and the Turbo adapter o ring seal failed. The o ring was not blown. The car would not idle at all and I had to rev the engine in order to get the car home. Needless to say the car ran really bad. Brad

I know I have a hell of a huge vac leak near the turbo either blown o ring blown tb gasket cracked vac block or even turbine housing leak but I'm thinking o ring

I would get the carb cleaner out and try to locate the leak. One cause for a leak could be the vacuum line connection on the back of the intake manifold by the firewall. Lay on top of the motor and look down from the top to see if the line is connected. This line does have a habit of blowing off without a zip tie on it under boost. If all else fails the turbo may have to come off. Keep us posted. Brad

ok to anyone following this thread the bottom o ring failed, and the line you mentioned brad popped off as well
