LT1 springs or Comp valve springs

I plan to order a set of springs today, would you guys recommend the LT1 springs or the Comp springs, I want to say Comp 980 if I remember correctly. Also is this something I can do myself correctly? Can I use the stock locks and retainers?

Go with the Comps. They will probably be a little easier on the cam.

I agree go with the Comp 980's. Good replacement for stock spring.
