I have a set of 38 lb. Lucas inj. from PTE with JL chip. My receipt had Red Stripe Inj. printed on it. Are they the same inj.?
Thanks
Tim

I have ran a Thrasher 36 lb chip with these 38lb. Lucas inj. and the car ran great? What would be the downside to doing this. It actually performs better with less kr than the JL chip.
Thanks
Tim

I can't answer that, but I'm sure there is alot of gurus out there that can.

I posted the very same question a few months ago. Everyone said that it was ok to run the thrasher with the lucas 38# inj.
I, as of yet haven't tried this I'm still using the JL chip. But I do want to get another Thrasher with the anti-theft device.

Did you run a race Thrasher with those injectors. I have some used redstripes for my T, and like the stock 93 and 97 Thrasher, so I would be interested in one of those bluetop Thrashers for my redstripes if that works. Tim

Wow, Thats funny because i got a set of red stripe that i thought were 40lbs but when i sent them out they flowed at 38psi and i didn't think anything of it until this post.
So i guess i have 38lb injectors......

The Thrasher chip idles much smoother and spool is faster. My car would idle up and down with the JL chip and also had more kr. You can not beat the Thrasher in my opinon and for $25 bucks how can you go wrong.

So you had the 93 chip and not the race chip? Anyone used a Thrasher BlueTop race chip with the redstripes?

I have the race chip but have not used it yet. I got it right before I did my rebuild and have not even opened the wrap.

I run the Lubrant 93 and 110 chips and I have nothing but praise for them. Rock steady idle, great street manners, fast spool, etc... I suppose it has to do with the rest of the car's combo and state of tune. IMHO, Lubrant's chips for red stripes are great. The thrasher for $25 may still be something to have in the bag of tricks though.

Actually, I should send the JL chip back and have it upgraded or reprogrammed because I did make some changes during my rebuild such as P/P heads and matched headers and intake. Would these changes call for another chip program?
Thanks
Tim

Mine didn't need a reprogram. I had a cam and ported irons, ported intake. Perhaps that is why mine worked so well? I was really impressed with the chip because it seemed to solve the drivability problems that I previously had.
