How much have our first edition 1/18th diecast cars appreciated? I'd like to get $18,000 for mine, I'll sell it to a board member for the low price of $12,000, I'm good like that and it's NIB.

The great thing about the car hobby is that it has room for everyone, from the guy who will put a quarter mill in a beater that has the right numbers on it, to the guys who wish they had the quarter mill to spend on something else. If I was a multimillionaire pontiac guy, i'd own that car. Since i'm not either of those two things, I'll shake my head at the guy who is.

To me it seems that the point of the thread was that the guy who dragged it out of the barn and probably paid scrap iron money for it is a lucky SOB and almost botched a quarter million dollar profit. To that I would have to agree.

wow.. some of you guys have little to no respect for racing history.
im 23, and i saw that auction the day it was listed, once i found out what it was, i was in awww.

i grew up around all the nostalgic racing.. ever since i can remember..
even 2 years ago i was fortunate enough to help arnie the farmer beswick get his truck out of a ditch during a snow storm. i couldnt take money from him... hes is an icon to me. much like these super rare SD pontiacs are and were to many people.

x2, I didn't want to say anything. Since I'm a Pontiac guy, I'm a little biased. Those Super Dutys helped lay the foundation for the muscle car. Now I just gotta find one of those SD wagons!!!!

good luck in your search!! lol
id love to get my hands on a swiss cheese catalina, hell, id even settle for a clone!
