My question is , i have a macintosh power book labtop at a friends house , does any one know if it will work for a turbo links scan tool . Ive always had problems getting thing for the labtop and dont want to buy the turbo links and have it not work.

I will try to get more info on the labtop if it helps.

thanks guys

Nope...different animal completely. You need a DOS capable computer (and the parallel port is totally different on a Mac)

Sorry!

well.....

if ya REALLLY wanted to try it I think there is a possiblity that you could link up running turbolink over virtual PC....

but it'd be ALOT of trouble and prolly wouldnt work

I'm a "to the bone" Mac guy as well. But for the cost and aggravation of trying to get Virtual PC to work (you would need custom cables as well as the software - lots of $$$) you can pick up a cheap PC laptop. They are literally a dime a dozen.

TurboLink is a small and nimble program and it doesn't require much processor speed or hard drive space to run effectively. I think it can even run on a little palm pilot. I think BMC (?) Computer Source can sell you an affordable complete package, laptop and software ready to rock.

Don't let the OS difference stop you from getting a laptop based scan tool - your Buick will thank you.

Besides, I think the elegant MAC OS would blow a fuse with that goofy 1970's DOS/Windows interface :)
