I am trying to find out if having both my screens out is causing my hesitation. So i'm putting one back in. When I put it in should I put it on the side near the turbo or the side next to my cone filter.

On a turbo regal, there was never a screen on the turbo side of the maf. There were two on the inlet side. Most cars will idle badly without at least one screen in the maf. The screens served to smooth out air flow so the maf would meter flow properly.

Your totally right, shows how long its been since I've looked inside an orginal MAF.
