Main Journal Oiling Mod ?

When drilling the #2 and #3 main journal feed passages to 3/8" . Do you drill right threw or in to the cam journals ? I'm reading the Ron Merkel "Buick Power" tech article and can not determine if this is the case . Thanks.

Magazine builder eeeh. Don't buy into it all, these motors run fine into the 100's of thousands of miles just the way they are with the oil passages they have. I can't say one way or the other but I am sure Merkel got that from the Power Source book which is for 6k plus RPM Stage engines. Do ours need it? Probably not. Have I ever done it? Nope. Did Buick do some research on this when they redesigned the V6? I am sure.
