After putting on an Art Carr tranny pan I noticed my trans
had no govenor , now I'm assuming it must have a manual
shift body in it. I have never drove the car, I bought it in need
of repair, but I do know the guy was driving the car when it
caught fire, my Question is how do these tranny's work ?
do you have to manualy shift ? how about down shifting ??
do you play it by ear and shift when you think it sounds right ?
what would happen if you take off in drive?? Yes I'am a newbie

please I know I'm stupid, somebody
help me out come on!!!!!!

Vern, at the back of the trans (under the pan) is a cover that goes over the governor. The governor is not visible unless you take the cover off. My guess is it is there. If you could put up some pics it mnight help to see what you are looking at.
