How much boost can a stock MAP sensor read? And how much can 3 bar MAP sensor read? When do you really need to upgrade to the 3-bar? Does anyone have any part numbers for the stock or 3-bar sensors?

1bar=14.7

MAP sensors used in auto apps read 1 bar in vacuum, then come the extra bars.

A 2bar reads up to 14.7, a 3 bar up to 29.4.

The MAP on a Buick is only used for stock boost gauges or SD conversions/alky kits/data logging. Removing MAP sensor on a Buick only causes a vacuum leak as it is not tied into the computer.

3 bar part number is 12223861

I sell them for 70.00

I have powerloger files that show boost past the 30 psi mark.:biggrin: Am I using the wrong MAP?:confused: It is 27psi on the gauge but 29 on the logs.

What it is.. the calibration is off. More than likely 29.4=31.3 on your power logger.
